Colorado Legal Services received a Pro Bono Innovation Fund grant from the Legal Services Corporation in 2014 and again in 2016. Because of the grant we have been able to initiate programs that use Denver metro area lawyers to staff remotely pro bono legal clinics to serve low-income clients in many rural communities where services are limited. Please contact Jen Cuesta at email@example.com for more information or to apply for the following opportunities:
Library Legal Clinics by Videoconference. CLS partners with the Saguache Public Library and the Blanca/Fort Garland Library to provide legal advice to low-income clients from the San Luis Valley region using videoconferencing. The same kind of clinic is partnered with the Idaho Springs Library and the Lake County Library to provide advice to eligible clients in the NW mountain region. Opportunities to volunteer are on the last Thursday of the month from 5-7 pm or the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1-3 pm. Volunteers need a private location where they can access the internet, a webcam and a microphone. Volunteers are provided with a comprehensive handbook and access to brief ZOOM tutorials.
